What our readers and listeners are saying…..

Here’s a visit to the mailbag for Wednesday May 28 and few of the notes from our readers and listeners at GREENSBOROSports.com etc…..

From the Whitaker family:
Andy,
The low to the floor point guard NiNi Whitaker will be signing with Virginia Intermont College on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 4:00pm in the media center at Page high school. I wish you or someone from your staff can attend. Ya’ll have done and said great things about my daughter. Thanks for all the coverage over the years!

We’ll be there unless Kobe Bryant comes to town and he ends up calling us for a meeting at the Pleasant Garden Community Center.

From Frank who attended the recent High School football combnie at the Greensboro Coliseum:
I paid for $110 of merchandise from these coaches(at the combine) and haven’t received anything but a bogus DVD on how to get recruited for $10. How do I get a hold of these coaches?

Can we get some help here for Frank?

From Ray Petersen (Bryan Peterson’s {of the Greensboro Grasshoppers} dad)
Andy,
Thanks for the job you do broadcasting the Hoppers games. For a dad that has rarely missed one of his son’s ball games since T-ball, it has been quite a shock to my system to not be able to attend his son’s pro games. You ease that pain a little.

I just wanted to pass on a couple tid-bits of info that you might find interesting. Bryan and Matt Dominguez both graduated from Chatsworth High School and played together when Matt was a freshman and Bryan was a senior. It was the last national championship team for the school, and Matt’s older brother Jason was also on the team. Currently, five starters on the team are playing pro ball in the minor leagues. Jason Dominguez pitches for the Salem Avalanche.

Also, Mike Stanton played at Norte Dame High School which is also in the San Fernando Valley, just outside of Los Angeles and is just a few miles from Chatsworth. Matt, Mike, and Bryan are all “Valley” boys. Mike’s school is in a different conference and they never played each other, at least from a school standpoint. Travel ball, I wouldn’t know about.

Again, thanks for the job you do. You are always trying to fill time with color comments and I thought you might be interested in this info. If you have already pointed this out, I apologize for the repetition. I might have missed the broadcast.
Ray
Go Hoppers!!!!!

A good call/message coming our way from the Petersons out in California.
