Checking in with local product DeMario Pressley

Former Dudley High School star DeMario Pressley was taken in fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. After playing his college football in-state in Raleigh with the Wolfpack, its off to the Big Easy for the Big Fella from Greensboro.

Pressley attended the Saints first mini-camp last month. After a brief return to Greensboro, Pressley is back in New Orleans, trying to settle in to his new surroundings.

In an article by Jacey Zembal, which appeared in the June edition of the Wolfpacker magazine, Pressley cited injuries during his college career as one reason his draft position was lower than some had expected. However, he is now confident he is ready to go and make an impact in New Orleans. Taken with the 144th overall pick, Pressley could be a steal for the Saints. Pressley also told the magazine that he likes New Orleans because “I like the heat”. The heat is exactly what DeMario plans to bring to opposing quarterbacks in the fall.

On a side note, I had the opportunity to talk to DeMario’s mom some last fall and it is great to see good things happen to good people. Best of luck to DeMario Pressley in the future.

  1. I remember watching Demario during his days at Dudley. He was a great player and I knew he would made it to the big time. I will be a big Saints fan now! Who Dat?
