Francois Theriault of Greensboro College was selected to the men’s track and field/cross country district 3 academic first team.

Theriault, who graduated and was GC’s commencement speaker last month, carried a 3.78 grade point average and majored in business. A native of St. Etienne, Que., he set a program record 5K cross country record of 16:42. He placed 6th at USAS meet despite running on broken foot last October.

Theriault was a USAS South first team selection the past two years and placed second at the conference meet as a junior. His 28th place regional finish earned Theriault all-region honors in 2006, a first for a GC harrier.
