State Games Starts The Week Early With High Profile High School Baseball Today

The State Games of North Carolina starts the week early this week with some of the top High School Baseball Players in North Carolina demonstrating their skills for college and pro scouts at War Memorial Stadium today until 4:00 pm. Over 75 college and pro scouts are at War Memorial Stadium scouting the rising seniors and juniors from across the state in all different skill sessions. These players will begin their High School Series on Wednesday through Sunday at UNCG Baseball Stadium with the Championships on Sunday. Games are at 10:00/ 1:00/4:00/7:00 daily.   • The senior All- Star Game will start with a Home Run Derby tonight at 6:45 pm with the East/West All- Star Game to begin at 8:15 pm at UNCG Stadium.
  • The players of tomorrow are playing today. Players like Trot Nixon and Josh Hamilton from the Major Leagues played in the event and several members of the College World Series Bound UNC Tar Heels like Alex White and Chad Flack played in the this event.
  • The Opening Ceremonies for the State Games will be at 7:00 pm on Friday Night at the Special Events Center of the Coliseum.
  • The Youth Soccer will be at the Bryan Park Soccer Complex on Saturday and Sunday with a park of players ages 6 to 19.
  • The Ice House will be hosting Ice Hockey starting on Friday.
  • The Smith Athletic Complex will be hosting Youth and Adult Lacrosse on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Volleyball will be the sport at the Greensboro Sportsplex.
  • The Irwin Belk Track and NC A&T State University will be hosting Youth Track on Saturday and Adult Track on Sunday.
