  1. Any idea as to why Grimsley player Michael Gehrke didn’ make the team? I think if you look at the stats, Mike G. was way ahead of the players you listed in goals including two goals for Grimsley in the State Finals.

  2. The only thing I can think of is that maybe Michael Gehrke of Grimsley had previous college committments and that his coaches said no about him playing in this game. He sure had the numbers to be in the game as you mentioned. Another thought might be, did he fit as far as the position the West coaches were looking????? NOT SURE…..

I was talking with David Dupont Sr. the day the younger Dupont was selected for the West soccer team and at that time they were still looking for a college for DD Jr. to attend where he could play soccer and basketball with the leaning toward basketball.

Not sure where DD Jr. ended up deciding to go as far as college goes, possibly Guilford, I know that the Quakers were interested.

  3. I know DD Sr. I went to school with him from K-9th grade. Played basketball with him at St. Pius. He is a great person as is the whole family. All the best to his son DD Jr.

  4. I am not sure who selects the teams. Look at Christin Newman from PAGE. First of all she was not the best player on the team, never scored, and never passed the ball. She is not a team player. Christin is a great tennis player. Why wouldn’t they give it to a senior. There were plenty Seniors that deserved it more than Christin.
