Proehlific Power wins game one at Virginia Beach…

The Proehlific Power won their first game in the Palomino Region tournament at Virginia Beach on Tuesday in strong fashion with a 10-0, five inning no-hit victory, over Western Branch, Virginia.

The Power got five strong innings of work from starting pitcher Mike Dimock out of High Point Wesleyan. Dimock struck out eight and walked just one Western Branch batter.

The Power recorded six extra-base hits with Matt Nettesheim going 3-3 with a double and two runs batted in. Nick Jones had two hits including a double, while Travis Woolen, Logan Self, and Michael Wall also had two hits each. Wall drove in two runs as did Lyle Donaldson with his one hit. Alex Swim had a triple for the Proehlific Power.

The Power will face a very tough Lynnhaven, Virginia team today at 3:30pm. Lynnhaven won their first round contest by an 11-1 score. Esterlin Paulino is scheduled to start today’s game for the PP.

The PP coached by Justin Smith, along with Johnny Smith, Bob Sublett, and Jeff Wilson will remain in Virginia Beach at least through Thursday with hopes of moving on to the Palomino Zone tournament next week in Pittsburgh.

  1. This was the same Western Branch team that made teh Colt World Series last year. Proehlific has pretty good talent and i wish the Smith’s and there team good luck,. I talked to Justin last night and he thought the championship game will be today at 3:30

  2. The Western Branch Team was not the same as the one that went to the Colt World Series last year. The majority of last years team went over to American Legion Ball and are doing very well in that league.
