Greensboro White tops Lynnhaven, Virginia 7-6, takes on Chesterfield, VA at 4:30…..

In the Colt East Zone tournament today at Stoner-White Stadium in Jaycee Park, the Greensboro White team coached by Larry Farrer defeated Lynnhaven, Virginia 7-6 with a game-winnning RBI by Garrett Lewis in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Zack Hodges from Ragsdale scored the game-winning run. The game was 0-0 through 1, 2-1 GB thru 2, 2-2 through 3 innings, 3-2 GB thru 5, 6-3 LH after 5 and half, then 6-6, all tied up after 6 innings; and then Greensboro won it in the bottom of the 7th.

In the sixth Garrett Lewis had a double, Johnathan Wells doubled and then Dylan Shutt had a bloop single to right. Pinch-runners came on for both Lewis and Wells and both were able to score to tie it up at 6.

Greensboro White wins it 7-6 and they are now playing Chesterfield County Virginia in the winners bracket. The game got under way at around 4:30. The Chesterfield Ball Club beat Greatneck, Virginia earlier today 7-6. Chesterfield County was down 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth when play resumed after yesterday’s wash out.

Greatneck and Lynnhven, Virginia will play at 6:30pm and the loser will be eliminated.
