Butler Township, Pennsylvania tops Rockingham County game one Colt East Zone

Butler Township out of Pennsylvania/Ohio has just defeated Rockingham County out of North Carolina 5-4 in game one of the Colt East Zone baseball tournament in Greensboro, N.C. at the War Memorial Stadium.

Alex Bollinger was the winning pitcher for Butler Township and the guys out of Pennsylvania/Ohio went up early 5-0 and held on to win 5-4 as Rockingham County came flying back late in the game.

The line on the game went 1-0 BT after one inning, 4-0 Butler after two, BT 5-0 over RC after three, still 5-0 BT after four, RC got on the board with two runs in the fifth to make it 5-2 BT, RC added one run in the sixth to make the score Butler Township 5-3 over Rockingham County and then RC tagged on one more run in the 7th as BT balked in a run to make the final Butler Township 5-4 over Rockingham County.

Rockingham County out-hit Butler Township 12-4 but BT had it coming to the plate when it counted the most and RC had the hits but they lost runners on plays that BT made to win the game.

Congrats to Butler Township and the Greensboro Green vs. Hamilton, New Jersey game will be getting under way at Memorial Stadium in about 10 minutes.
