Greensboro College Pride Football 7th in USAS Poll

Danville, Va. –USA South Football media day took place on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Averett University. For the second straight year the preseason poll was released at the annual event.

Pride Coach Neal Mitchell addressed the gathering of media, coaches and staff at media day. Mitchell noted the importance GC closing out close games in order to have a winning season..

The Pride was picked to finish seventh of eight teams in the USA South preseason poll. GC had 11 points in the coaches’ poll (see below).

The 2008 USA South football schedule kicks-off on Saturday, September 6. On that day, The Pride opens at Guilford for the 12th Souper Bowl.

  1. I dont understand. How can NC Weslayn be placed 4th when they won the conference last year. Is it because of loss of players. I know they have a new coach. Would that have anything to do with it?

  2. Who knows – it was a Coach’s Poll. Sometimes, I think Coaches deliberately vote down their school to psyche up their players.
