WGHP’s Chad Tucker interviews Greg Woodard, who is serious about preserving Greensboro’s War Memorial Stadium. The video is on the WGHP Website.
In the video you can see how poorly the city has maintained the facility. It makes you wonder how the Greeks and Romans could build things that stand today and we can seem to keep a small memorial to our soldiers from World War One from falling apart.
The stadium is still in use, almost daily with college and amateur baseball. You can see it at anytime for yourself. Be sure to stop and read the names on the two brass plates listing the local soldiers who died in WWI. There is one plate on each column.
