N.C. State and East Carolina:Two X-Greenville Rose Running Backs Faceoff!

When ECU and N.C. State meet Saturday in Raleigh, the City of Greenville and J.H. Rose High School will be well represented. Andre Brown of State played and starred at Rose in 2003 when J.H. Rose won the first of their four consecutive. beating Mt. Tabor in Winston Salem at Wake Forest. For East Carolina, running back Jonathan Williams was the star when Rose High beat Grimsley for J.H. Rose’s third consecutive State Championship at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, the site of the matchup this weekend.

Keep an eye on each running back, as both of them can carry the mail-big, strong and fast and from Greeneville’s Rose High School. By the way, I taught and coached basketball at J.H. Rose many years ago when another Rose running back was a Star-Al Hunter was the man in Greenville. He went to Notre Dame to play football and had an outstanding academic background to go with his running back skills. Al went on to be a star at N.D.

It is almost a sure thing that one of these guys, Williams or Brown will play a big role in who wins, in what should be a smoker of an in-state rivalry at Carter-Finley Saturday.
