HS Football for September 19 and the AM950 call

More big games are coming up tonight with Dudley at Page, Grimsley at Ragsdale, Northwest Guilford at Southeast, High Point Central vs. High Point Andrews in Simeon Stadium and many, many, more.

We will have LIVE coverage of the Dudley-Page game on AM950 radio and at wpetam950.com plus updates on Grimsley at Ragsdale, NWG at SEG, and HPC-HPA; plus whatever else we can get our hands and ears on.

We will have Paul Lambeth, Doug Cockman, Greg Johnson, and Joe Barile out in the field for the radio and the web site. You may be able to pick up the radio audio on your phone by way of the internet if you are having radio reception problems. I have been hearing a lot of talk about that type of information gathering technique here recently. A laptop computer may come in handy if there is a connection nearby, you never know how you might end up on-line these days.

Tonight’s games are waiting in the wings with Dudley at Page looking like a Panther road win at 27-14 Dudley over Page.
Grimsley at Ragsdale will get serious with the Tigers on top 31-21.
Northwest at Southeast and I’m seeing SEG the winner at 28-20.
High Point Central-High Point Andrews and we have HPA all the way to a 28-27 victory.
Northern Guilford past the East Lincoln Mustangs 24-14 at home on NG’s field just off of Spencer-Dixon Road.
Southern Guillford cools off the Cougars of Southwestern Randolph at C.K. Siler Stadium, 35-21 Storm.
Southwest Guilford hosting Western Guilford and we will see if WG can pull one out on the road at SWG with our pick going to the Hornets 21-20. Hopefully Ferrell Carter will be on the scene and he can call or go by and see Jimmy Fulmer at WPET/275-9738 with the update. The AM950/ENTERCOM studios are located about 2.5 miles from SWG.
Reidsville brings Ray Ray Butchee and his brother little Jay Jay Butchee to NEG to take on the Rams and last year Northeast Guilford went up to Reidsville and made a game of it in the second half but with the NEG Rams at (0-3) and the Reidsville Rams at (3-0) we will say RR 35-17.

OPEN DATES for Eastern Guilford(4-0) and Ben L. Smith(0-4) tonight…….
+++++Excellent job by our guests on the Football in Focus Show last night with Tim Romer, Walt Sparks, Tyler Ricker, Lay Lay Brown, James Scales III, Chase Johnson, Josh Black, Cameron Ingram, and Tavorris Stanback. Don has it all set up and you can watch the play-back of the show here at the site when you click on at Football in Focus, just a couple of posts down on this page.+++++

  1. Ragsdale 38
    Grimsley 7

Not a lot of details since I was working the gate tonight. Ragsdale dominated from the opening kickoff. They recovered 3 Grimsley fumbles in the first 5 minutes and turned them into ten points. Led 17-0 at the half and 31-0 to start the fourth.

Tim Romer had I believe 3 TD passes(Jenkins, Mearite and Brandenburg) and ran another one in. Charles Thomasson had a nice 40 something yard TD run for Ragsdale.

Wasn’t expecting a win that easy. Ragsdale now 5-0 with conference games starting @ SE Guilford next week.
