College Volleyball Final – Guilford 3, Randolph 1

Lynchburg, Va. (9/24/08) – Anna Miller made eight kills and Stephanie Blankenship contributed seven kills and six blocks in Guilford College’s 3-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball win at Randolph College Wednesday night. The Quakers’ (3-13, 1-3 ODAC) first league win ended a 10-match losing streak with the 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16 win.

Rookie Taylor Phillips set up 31 assists and junior Bethany Hawks (Snow Camp, N.C./Southern Alamance) scooped up six digs. Sophomore Courtney Kozar added five kills, six digs and two service aces.

Randolph falls to 5-13, 0-4 ODAC. Caroline English led the Wildcats with nine kills, 31 assists and six digs.

Guilford returns to action Saturday (9/27) at Eastern Mennonite University at 2:00 p.m. Randolph hosts Southern Virginia Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
