College Cross Country Results – Guilford Runs in Greensboro Cross Country Invitational

Greensboro, N.C. (9-27-08) – Guilford College’s cross country teams competed in the Greensboro Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Hagan Stone Park. The Quakers’ men placed second among NCAA Division III schools, while the Quakers’ women took third among five NCAA Division III contestants.

Freshman Palmer Hicks unofficially completed the eight-kilometer loop in 30:04, which paced the Quakers and placed third among all Division III harriers. Other unofficial Guilford times include: Guilford College placed second among NCAA Division III competitors at the Greensboro Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro. Quakers’ freshman Palmer Hicks had the team’s best time (30:04 unofficial), which ranked third among Division III contestants. Other unofficial Guilford results included Tyler Brown (30:45), Max Karaffa (30:47), Chris Walker (30:49), Bobby Benjamin (32:40), Leon Odell (33:22) and Chad Currin (34:28).

Sophomore Grace Normann paced Guilford’s women for the fourth time in as many races, unofficially completing the five-kilometer course in 22:30. Other unofficial Guilford results include Jenn Abelin (23:27), Linnea Saby (23:24), Daryn Lane (24:34), Meg Holden (25:46), Ariel Lang (25:48), Caroline Gadsby (26:25) and Dana Small (26:32).

The Quakers run at Hagan Stone again next Saturday (10/4) in the Hagan Stone Classic.
