Kozar, a 5-7 outside hitter, received the honor after helping Guilford to a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) wins with 2.78 points per set and four service aces. She averaged 2.11 kills per set and totaled 18 digs on the week. Kozar also claimed her second double-double of the year with a season-high 14 kills and 12 digs in the Quakers’ five-set win at Eastern Mennonite University. She added five kills and six digs at Randolph College.

Coach Emily Gann’s Quakers (4-13, 2-3 ODAC) ended a 10-match losing streak with a 3-1 triumph at Randolph College last week. The two wins also mark Guilford’s first back-to-back road victories since 2002.

The Student-Athlete of the Week Award is presented by Guilford’s SAAC, which is comprised of representatives from each of the school’s 16 varsity teams. The group meets regularly to discuss the state of Guilford Athletics and seeks to build community among the school’s student-athletes and non-student-athletes. Recent Guilford SAAC activities include a breast cancer awareness promotion, canned-food drives, volunteer assistance with the North Carolina Special Olympics and tutoring at New Garden Friends School.
