College Volleyball Finals – Guilford 3, St. Paul’s 0; Salem 3, Guilford 2

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (10-4-08) – Guilford split a nonconference tri-match hosted by Salem College Saturday. The Quakers knocked off NCAA Division II St. Paul’s College, 25-22, 25-17, 25-14. Anna Miller had 10 kills and Katie Dailey had 22 assists in the win. Courtney Kozar added seven kills and Shanika Tunnell had three total blocks. Bethany Hawks made 10 digs.

In the second match, the host Spirits (6-12) claimed a 25-22, 14-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-11 decision. Miller led the way for Guilford with 12 kills and 21 digs. Kozar added 10 kills and seven digs. Stephanie Blankenship had nine kills and Taylor Phillips had 29 assists. Christine Tillman’s 21 kills and four blocks paced the hosts. Sarah Maher had 28 assists for Salem.

Salem defeated St. Paul’s 25-18, 25-20, 25-16. St. Paul’s falls to 3-17 with the loss.

Guilford (5-15) returns to action Tuesday (10/7) with a nonconference match at North Carolina Wesleyan College.
