Roper replaces Aunt Eloise at WTQR

Former Clemson Tiger football fan Toby Young who played the part of Aunt Eloise at WTQR 104.1 radio for 23 years has been replaced by a newcomer to the Triad radio scene. Here’s the news from wxii.com and their leaders Cameron Kent, Wanda Starke, and Dave Goren:

GREENSBORO –Monday, WTQR announced two time CMA Broadcast personality of the year Jeff Roper will hit the WTQR airwaves on Wednesday.

The Jeff Roper Morning Show has been part of other Carolina radio stations like WCOS Columbia and WSOC Charlotte.

“Jeff will be a great addition to the WTQR family. We look forward to having Jeff’s extensive experience and talent at work here in the Triad,” said Tex Meyer, VP/Market Manager for Clear Channel Radio/Greensboro.

  1. I am so upset that you stopped the morning show with Aunt Eloise…I will be listening to WSOC from now on

  2. WTQR likewise has been replaced with 93.1 THE WOLF since “Aunt Eloise” is no longer on your station. I would rather listen to John Boy and Billie than Jeff Roper on my commute. I laugh almost a much as I did at Aunt Eloise!

  3. I hate the Jeff Roper left WSOC. He was a great broadcaster and a million times better than Rob Tanner which now hosts the WSOC monring show. Hopefuly I will beable to pick up that station here.
