  1. The only people that can keep Scott Riddle from throwing for over 200 yards in a are his new offensive coordinator and the overly complicated offense he ran at Eastern Randolph. I know the Elon is 5-1 right now, but how far they go this year will be dependant on the right arm of Scott Riddle.

  2. Dan, didn’t Eastern Randolph get mashed by Boiling Springs Crest in the State 3-AA title game Scott Riddle’s senior year at ER????? I was thinking it was 48-0 or something like that….He is a true offensive weapon and I do believe that Elon just wanted to establish the ground game versus Furman this past Saturday so they would have it available when necessary.

  3. Upon further review, ER won it all over Charlotte Catholic 15-7 Riddle’s senior year of 2006, and they lost to Crest, Riddle’s freshman year 40-0, back in 2003.

  4. Andy, I am sure Elon wants to establish the run who doesn’t? My point is simple – if they are going to advance far in the conference or playoffs it is going to be because of Scott Riddle, not whoever they had running the ball. I mentioned ER because his career stats are NOT overly impressive yardage wise. I mentioned his new offensive coordinator at Elon because he seems bent on not giving Scott the opportunity to showcase his talents. By the way the old offensive coordinator is now at Kansas State as their offensive coordinator. Why is he at K State? Because Scott Riddle threw for over 4000 yards last year. If the new guy does not let Riddle loose then Elon will finish the season 7-4 or 8-3 and be watching the playoffs on TV. I guess they would have the satisfaction of knowing they ran the ball well. When I go to the games I want to hold up a sign that says “LET SCOTT THROW THE BALL”. This guy is an amazing talent who can throw a ball 80 yards. I just hate to see him limited by play calling.

  5. Very interesting info on the Offensive Coordinator that went to Kansas State, and I agree, Scott Riddle is the key to the Elon success.

  6. I’m going to disagree with Elon being ranked over App St. I guess we’ll find out on Nov 15. in Boone.

  7. I know a lot of people on both sides of the fence that are really looking forward to the App/Elon game.
