IRVING, Texas — East Carolina senior Amanda Duncan has been named Conference USA Co-Swimmer-of-the-Week after recording a pair of individual first place finishes to help the Pirates defeat Davidson by 63 points and improve to 4-0 during the dual meet season. Duncan also helped the 200-medley relay team earn a first place finish.
 
For the second straight meet, Duncan had top finishes in the 100 and 200-butterfly. She earned a pair of first place finishes after clocking a time of 56.00 in the 100-butterfly and 2:04.31 in the 200-butterfly. This is Duncan’s second career weekly C-USA swimming honor and first of the season.
 
She shared the honor with Marshall freshman Liz Greenway who had top times in three events to lead the Thundering Herd to a 185-79 victory over Radford in her second collegiate meet.
 
Duncan currently owns the third fastest time in school history in the 100-butterfly (55.50), which she recorded at the 2007 Conference USA Championships. She posted the fourth fastest time in ECU history in the 200-butterfly (2:04.22) as a junior against N.C. State.
 
Duncan and her teammates return to competition on Oct. 24 against Georgetown in Washington, D.C. The meet is schedule for a 4 p.m. start.
