Paul’s pro pigskin prognositcations week 8

Last week 9-5 65-37 for the season.

This week….

Tampa Bay @ Dallas: Hmmmm, no Romo, Tampa’s defense is playing lights out, BUT the Cowboys are at home and desperately need this one to keep pace in the NFC east. To steal a line from Paul Zimmerman back in the 80’s, beware the wounded animal. Cowboys 20 Bucs 17

Washington @ Detroit: Skins seek to return to their early season form against a Lion team using a unproven Dan Orlovsky at QB. Skins 23 Detroit 10

Buffalo @ Miami: The Bills are off to their best start in over a decade but traditionally struggle in South Florida, I see this trend continuing against a Dolphins team that is playing much better than their 2-4 record would indicate. Dolphins 21 Bills 20

St. Louis @ New England: The Rams have been playing much better since Jim Haslett took over but the surge stops against a Patriots team that needs this one to keep the division leading Bills in sight and whom appear to be turning the corner offensively. Pats 28 Rams 17

San Diego vs. New Orleans @ London: For the 2nd straight year jolly old England gets a dose of regular season NFL action with a matchup between two teams that were chic picks to get to the Super Bowl in the pre-season. Both however have been underwhelming in their performance. But with Reggie Bush out until further notice with a knee injury and Tomlinson slowly returning to form after a toe injury of his own the Chargers appear to be in much better shape. Chargers 30 Saints 20

NY Jets @ Kansas City: Arrowhead Stadium is traditionally one of the toughest places to play in all of football. However with a depleted offense featuring former Coastal Carolina signal caller Tyler Thigpen leading the way the Cheifs just do know have enough firepower to stay with Brett Favre and company. Jets 24 Cheifs 10

Atlanta @ Philadelphia: In one of those games (wait for it wait for it) ‘for the birds’ Donovan McNabb and company have too much balance for the Falcons. Also Philly is 9-0 under Andy Reid following a bye week, I see this trend continuing. Eagles 24 Falcons 16

Arizona @ Carolina: The Cards tend to struggle when coming east, the Panthers have been a totally different team at home compared to the road. Adds up to a happy day in uptown Charlotte. Panthers 31 Cards 20

Oakland @ Baltimore: Coming cross country to face the league leader in least yards allowed is not a good recipe for the boys of pride and poise. Ravens 17 Raiders 3

Cleveland @ Jacksonville; The Jags have to get this one to stay in contention. They will get it against a Browns team that has been out of contention since the start of the season and who have probably been the leagues biggest disapointment. Jags 21 Browns 10

Cincinnati @ Houston: Bungals without Carson Palmer going on the road to face a Houston team that is looking for their third in a row after a rocky start. I guess you can see where this is going. Texans 30 Bengals 13

NY Giants @ Pittsburgh: In what has the potential to be a preview of the big one in February the conventional wisdom would be to stick with the home side. But the Steelers are quite banged up and I do not see their more run based approach working against the stout Giants defense. Giants 20 Steelers 14

Seattle @ San Francisco: The Seahawks have hit the skids, especially since Senica Wallace had to take over for Hasselbeck. But the 49ers are in even worse shape following the mid season firing of coach Mike Nolan. However I do think they will play inspired for interim coach Mike Singletary and I just cannot trust the Seahawks in any shape or form. Niners 17 Seahawks 9

Colts @ Titans: This is the national coming out party for perhaps the most undercovered 6-0 team of all time. The Titans are for real, now they will show A national TV audience why. The Colts will put up a great effort, but this is the Titans time. Titans 28 Colts 24
