  1. I was just reflecting back on this season earlier today, and I would have never thought that Grimsley would only win 2-3 games this season and not even make the playoffs. Especially with the success they have had the past 4 years. Very humbling year for the Whirlies. Kind of like the year Page went 0-10. Put this season behind you and start fresh next year.

  2. Grimsley will be good in a year or so. Have you seen the scores of the JV team, not even pretty a 71-6 debacle to Page, plus plenty of other lopsided losses. If the JV team is a factor in what future years have to offer , it doesn’t look pretty.

  3. Southeast at Dudley would be an interesting first or second round matchup. Panthers at home and the Falcons would not have to travel far at all. Round two last year we saw Dudley at NEG where the Panthers pulled off the upset and went on to win the State 3-AA title. SEG would end up at (7-4) and then there’s the allowance to drop one loss so they would enter at (7-3) and probably not meet a team in the Dudley category until round two.

I would rather see Ragsdale in the West so we could have a potential meeting of the Panthers and Tigers for the Championship at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem in what would be both schools last season at the 3-AA/3-A level.

Grimsley might have a much different look and record if Keenan Allen would have stuck around and if Shuping Jr. was there as the QB. You never know, Allen might have been ready to line up at quarterback and two seasons ago, Maurice Harris, a fine QB/WR in his own right worked out all summer with the Whirlies before returning that year to Northeast Guilford. Harris and brothers Keenan Allen and Zach Maynard are cousins.

    You never know……

  4. Andy-
The NCHSAA ADM’s had some errors. I talked with Ms. Tucker in the NCHSAA office today to bring to their attention that Trinity and Parkland were listed as 4A schools. The NCHSAA was going to take a closer look this afternnon.

  5. How about that second round match-up in the 4AA with possibly Northwest Guilfrod and East Forsyth…Northwest gave East all they wanted on homecoming at Northwest…that could be a very interesting match-up if these brackets hold up

  6. Asheboro is the best team that I have seen play all year other than Dudley. Now, they played down to the level of competition versus ER, but still came away with a 7-0 victory. I think they win at home versus Ragsdale easily.
