State-Wide Top Ten:
#1) Appalachian State(7-2)…The Mountaineers(7-2/5-0) are now the hottest team in the state after crushing Wofford 70-24 on Halloween night and now ASU travels to face Chattanooga(1-8/0-5) before meeting Elon in Boone on Nov. 15. App is set to ZAP everything in sight.

#2) North Carolina(6-2)…This is now the second hottest team in the state but they cooled off some while experiencing their OPEN DATE last Saturday, but now it is back to work with another hot team coming to Chapel Hill this week when (7-2/4-2) Georgia Tech arrives. (Woody Durham vs. Wes Durham in the side show, but no Crusty the Clown or Sideshow Bob.)

#3) UNC-Pembroke(8-1)…The Braves pounded Concord on Saturday 57-0 and they have only been around two years as a team, but they are HOT. Everybody this side of Lillington is talking about the Braves. How ’bout them Braves? This week UNC-P closes out the regular-season at home against (2-8) North Greenville.

#4) Wake Forest(5-3)…The Deacs won a tough one in OT over Duke 33-30 and now they must prepare for an equally tough and MAD Virginia Cavalier crew that lost in OT to Miami 24-17. Al Groh comes home again to Winston-Salem, but can the Cavs be the haves and win out over WFU?

#5) Elon(7-2)…The Phoenix can’t move in the poll and now they are ready to roll again after the off week with the Western Carolina Catamounts(3-5/1-7) coming to town on Saturday.

#6) East Carolina(5-3)…ECU defeated Central Florida Sunday night 13-10 in OT and this Saturday the Pirates will host the Thundering Herd of Marshall(4-4/3-1) in Greenville.

#7) Fayetteville State(8-2)…The Broncos finished things off with an impressive 55-20 win over Livingstone at home in their last game of the regular season.

#8) Wingate(8-2)…The Bulldogs fell several feet in the poll after their 35-33 heartbreaking loss to Carson-Newman. This week the ‘Dogs face Mars Hill(6-4) at home.

#9) Shaw(7-3)…The Bears put the pre-hibernation hit on J.C. Smith Saturday with a convincing 62-35 victory. This week we have the BIG BEARS’ NEWS:

November 8th @1:00 PM Durham County Memorial Stadium
BEARS ARE 2008 WESTERN DIVISION CHAMPIONS!

#10) Elizabeth City State(7-3)…ECS hosted and roasted Virginia Union, stopping VU 36-13. The Vikings then toasted their upcoming appearance in this Saturday’s CIAA Title Game versus Shaw in Durham.
