State-wide College football Top Ten

State-Wide Top Ten:
#1) Appalachian State(8-2)…The Mountaineers had no touble with Chattanooga winning 49-7 and now here comes Elon into Boone this Saturday in a game that will go a long way in determining the Southern Conference champion. This will be the biggest game ever, for in-state SoCon foes, playing football on a Saturday, in the mountains in November. This is the BEST we have to offer and it will tickle your inards as the old Mountaineer shouting, “Yahoo Mountain Dew”, used to say. Now, David and Randy Jackson are the ones that say it.(Game on 790The Ball on Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm.)

#2) North Carolina(7-2)…Heels over Georgia Tech 28-7 and the trip to Maryland will tell us if UNC will still be in the hunt for the conference crown.

#3) Wake Forest(6-3)…The Deacs took care of Virginia 28-17 and up next it’s to the road to meet the NCSU Wolfpack in Raleigh.

#4) East Carolina(6-3)…ECU defeated the Thundering Herd of Marshall 19-16 in overtime and now travel to face Southern Miss this week.

#5) Elon(8-2)…The Phoenix topped Western Carolina 33-14 and will meet the Mountaineers in Boone on Saturday.

#6) UNC-Pembroke(9-1)…The Braves handled (2-9)North Greenville 21-7.(Season 0ver)

#7) Shaw(8-3)…The Bears won the CIAA title game, trouncing ECS 36-7.(Season Over)

#8) Fayetteville State(8-2)…The Broncos are finished in 2008.(Season Over)

#9) Wingate(8-3)…The Bulldogs were knocked off 45-42 by Mars Hill last Saturday.(Season Over)

#10) Elizabeth City State(7-4)…The Vikings lost to Shaw 36-7 in the CIAA Championship game.(Season Over)
