If you are looking for the area’s top high school wrestlers, who you gonna call? Veritas Academy, and here’s why:(You might want to call these guys the “Mat Busters”…..)

Veritas Sports Academy combined for a 27-3 record at the Southeast Guilford Rookie Tournament on Saturday. Daniel Lile (110 lbs), Curtis Smith (168 lbs), Nick Nawrocki (177 lbs), and Jason Leonard (331 lbs) took first place finishes while T.J. Saches (110 lbs) took a second and Matthew Ardoin took third place. Smith, Nawrocki and Leonard all won by pins. Daniel Lile defeated teammate T.J. Sachs in sudden death to take the 110 lb title.

  1. It was a JV tournament, how are they the best wrestlers in the area?

Most of there wrestlers got beat pretty bad earlier in the year at an off season tournamnet.

Ragsdale, Dudley, Northwest, Eastern Guilford, those are the schools with the areas top wrestlers

  2. EGwrestler,

Nobody said they were the best wrestlers in the area. If you read, or if you can read, this was a rookie tournament which means they were all freshmen wrestling freshmen which means they might be the best freshmen in the area. However, they did participate in a tournament in Lumberton with all grade levels and did pretty well. Why does everybody try to find the things wrong with the Veritas athletes and instead give them a little credit. Their other tournaments have been against older, more experienced wrestlers. Go Veritas wrestlers.
