Former Grimsley star Kennard Moore hit for a career-high 31 points Sunday in a hoops loss by his SE Missouri State Redhawks. Kenard Moore is the son of Kenard Moore Sr. who starred at Dudley High School.

MANHATTAN, KAN. (Sunday, November 16, 2008) – Kansas State of the Big 12 Conference built up a 39-16 halftime lead but had to hold on for an 88-68 win over Southeast Missouri State.

The Wildcats (2-0) built a 39-16 halftime lead while controlling the boards 34-19 while the Redhawks (0-2) shot only 17% from the field.

Southeast shooting warmed up in the second half and pulled within 15 at 46-31 with 13:48 remaining behind the scoring of Kenard Moore who had a career-high and game-high 31 points. The Redhawks outscored the Wildcats 52-49 in the second half and won the battle of the boards 28-16.

Marsharee Neely from Page High School leads the Old Dominion University Monarchs to Victory.

NORFOLK, VA–Old Dominion University junior guard Marsharee Neely (Greensboro, NC.) scored 21 points to lead the Monarchs to a 85-59 exhibition win over Virginia State on Saturday Night November 8. Three other Monarchs, Frank Hassell (Chesapeake, Va.) , Ben Finney (Portsmouth, VA.) and Gerald Lee (Finland) each scored 10 points. Six Monarchs hauled down at least five rebounds and all 12 Monarchs who played scored.

The Monarchs broke out to a 17 point halftime lead, 42-25 as Neely poured in 17 points on seven- for -eight shooting from the floor. He finished the night nine-for-11 with three assists and five rebounds.

Kellen Brand hits for 15 points in Appalachian State’s 108-101 loss to UNC-W in overtime and good things are expected from the young man from High Point Andrews this season in Mountaineer Land.

Junior Kellen Brand, a dogged defender, is extremely skilled at both slashing to the basket and squaring up on the three-point arc. He started every game with the exception of ‘Senior Day,’ in 2007-08 and averaged 10.4 points per game on 44 percent shooting.

In girls hoops Lisa Archie from Ragsdale is heading to Elon, while Paris Best from Southeast Guilford is going to South Carolina State next year. Teshymia Tillman and Lauren Beeson from High Point Central have joined the team this year at GTCC.

  1. How long was Moore at Page and then again, how long was he at Grimsley?

    I remember him being at Grimsley and there may have been a prep school involved too.(Marshalltown Community College) I know the Bowden kid that was at Grimsley went to prep school up in Virginia and then went on to Charlotte.

  2. Pretty sure he was at Page his Freshman and Sophomore year, then at Grimsley his Junior year, then the prep school his Senior year.
