Pack will crack N.C. State-wide college football Top Ten

State-Wide Top Ten:
#1) Appalachian State(9-2)…This is the only team from the top five to win last weekend and with their 24-16 victory over Elon, ASU is #1 for 2008 in the SoCon as well. Matt Cline from Ledford HS caught another TD pass from Armanti Edwards in the big win over the Phoenix. This week it’s ASU(9-2/7-0) at Western Carolina(3-8/1-6) in the battle for the “Old Brown Jug”. WCU may be into the Jub or Jug before kickoff.

#2) North Carolina(7-3)…The Heels saw their chances for a conference crown go up in smoke up at Maryland as they came away with a 17-15 loss in game they had to win in order to be fighting for the title. This week North Carolina will host red and white hot, N.C. State. Kickoff is set for NOON in Chapel-Hill.

#3) Wake Forest(6-4)…The Deacs go in to meet the NCSU Wolfpack in Raleigh, and they come away losers 21-17 and now WFU will have to get settled down and get ready to host Boston College(7-3/3-3) at BB&T Field.

#4) East Carolina(6-4)…ECU faces Southern Miss and comes up empty losing 21-3 and this week the Pirates will ht the road again to battle UAB(3-7/2-4) in Birmingham, Alabama.

#5) Elon(8-3)…The Phoenix fell 24-16 to the ASU Mountaineers in Boone and now Elon will close out it’s season on Saturday at Liberty University.

#6-#10) N.C. State(4-6)…The Pack is back for at least one more week after that Big Four whipping they laid on Wake Forest in Raleigh(21-17). N.C. State now stands at (3-0) in the Big Five with wins over East Carolina, Duke and Wake and now there’s North Carolina coming up this Saturday in Chapel Hill. Wolfpack quarterback Russell Wilson has become a beast and he is fast becoming one the top football players in the entire nation.

Shaw(8-3)…The Bears won the CIAA title game, trouncing ECS 36-7.(Season Over)
Fayetteville State(8-2)…The Broncos are finished in 2008.(Season Over)
Wingate(8-3)…The Bulldogs were knocked off 45-42 by Mars Hill last Saturday.(Season Over)
Elizabeth City State(7-4)…The Vikings lost to Shaw 36-7 in the CIAA Championship game.(Season Over)
