Finally a POLL that everyone has an opinion. At the very bottom right column of the site is a poll question: Who Will Win This Friday? Ragsdale or Dudley.

  • whirliepride said,

    dudley. no question

  • ron said,

    Dudley by 4 touchdowns.

  • Joe said,

Dudley by 6. If Romer has a big game, Ragsdale by 3.

  • Mo Mo said,

dudley by at least 3 touchdowns the only way ragsdale will have a chance is if dudley doesn’t show up which isn’t gonna happen or they kill themsleves with penalties and turnovers cause be honest who has ran the ball on dudley this year? One last thing the only way ragsdale will have a chance is if ragsdale passes the ball that”s the only way the page game was close…

  • SPortsman said,

Dudley’s D line will just be way to much for Ragsdale to handle, along with their offensive running game.
THis is a far out thing to say but
Dudley beat Richmond county and Richmond county beat NW 30-0 and NW barley lost to Ragsdale earlier this season so i think Dudley will win by atleast 2 or 3 tds

  • ithink... said,

    49-6 dudley. blowout baby

  • Page Fan said,

I’m pulling for Ragsdale to win this one, but I think Dudley wins this one by 20…I’ve seen both teams, and I think Ragsdale will come to play, but in my opinion, they will not have the firepower to play with them…I hope that I’m wrong in this assessment, but there are just too many weapons with Lewis and company…I think Ragsdale’s defense is coached well enough and the players are good enough to contain Dudley’s offense somewhat; however, when Ragsdale’s offense completely gets shut down by Dudley, then that will leave too many opportunities for Lewis and company…

Ragsdale knows that they will have to play mistake free football…Dudley will make some mistakes (i.e. fumle or interception), but they are confident enough to play this way because of their defense; however, Ragsdale can not make this same mistake…Ragsdale has to play error free and keep the Dudley offense off the field…

  • mike said,

ragsdale can very well trust there defense to have there backs if they have turnovers they have all year…I dont think people realize how good there defense actually is…I think ragsdales key to winning this game is the offensive line coming to play this week more than ever…they all pulled together against Asheboro and gave romer plenty of time to make plays… Charles Thommason made a statement friday night with his many great runs and with him and donovan in the back field theres no doubt in my mind the tigers running game will be hot..Dudley is a running team and ragsdales defense is built to stop the run..Those guys will have a great gameplan and will be more than fired up to play this is the game those boys have wanted all year this game brings back memories from when the tigers went down to south point and were expected to get man handled and tommy norwood and the tigers did the man handling my prediction is 17-7 ragsdale

  • tiger fan said,

MO MO you cant compare this game to previous games especially a week 3 and week 4 match up one thing I know coach norwood stresses to his team is its not where you start but where you finish those guys have got nothing but better week by week and they bring a completley different swag to the games they are expected to lose…and dont think ragsdale cant bring there passing game I think romer has something like 22 touchdowns to 9 interceptions those boys have a great passing game

  • john said,

    Hey Mike,
the fewest amount of points Dudley has scored all season is 19 and that was to richmond county, Ragsdale only scored 14 on western guilford….but they are going to mangage to put up 17 on Dudley and hold that high powered offense to seven points?

  • dafdadfads said,

john makes a great poing, ragsdale should be at a psychological point of attach playing against dudley, dudley beat blew out western guilford but ragsdale won by 11 points, despite the fact between the psychological diffrences, dudley has the better athleates end of story
    dudley will win this game
its going to be a sad day on ragsdale come that monday,
you don’t just put up over 19 points a game for no reason
ragsdale isn’t ready for that they cant keep up with 19

  • mike said,

we will see friday keep the trash talking about ragsdale they love it

  • raygc said,

I have the POP CORN ready. This is better than the SUPER BOWL.
    ********Feeling kind of Friday***********

Hey TigerFan we’ll we will see how ragsdale does i wish them well but it’s not going to be easy oh yeah and don’t forget dudley is the defending state champions and the game is gonna be played at dudley… hmmm i can’t wait i have been getting tired of hearing people comparing ragsdale to dudley all year long the comparison ends friday!!!!

  • Less is MOMO said,

Southeast and Northwest beat Southwest 42 – 0. Ragsdale beat SW 21-20. Ragsdale will lose to both of these teams too. Oh wait they’ve already played. Ragsdale beat NW and they beat SEG twice. So what Ragsdale beat WG by 11 and Dudley won by a thousand. All that matters is the score at the end of the game. We’ll just have to wait and see.

MOMO – Let me try to make sense of your FIRST post.
1st Ragsdale has no chance because Dudley will show-up –
2nd Ragsdale does have a chance if Dudley has turnovers and penalties
3rd Ragsdale has no chance because they will not be able to run the ball
4th Ragsdale does have chance if they pass the ball

WHAT!? You contridict yourself twice in 4 sentences. Are you a lawyer?

As for your SECOND post – Who said it was going to be easy for Ragsdale? The way I read it, it’s going to be easy for Dudley. In fact I’d say Dudley has nothing to worry about. They should start watching film of Northern Vance or NEG. Shoot why stop there maybe Charlotte Catholic film. Heck they don’t need that either. We should just stop the playoffs today and give the trophy to Dudley.

DUDLEY! Hail to Victors! Wait isn’t that the University of Michigan’s fight song? Sure sounded sweet to Appalachian State. I wonder how many people gave them a chance?

  • mark said,

    Common Opponents (4)

    Dudley 46 Eden Morehead 0 — Ragsdale 48 Eden Morehead 0
    Dudley 40 Gboro Grimsley 0 — Ragsdale 38 Gboro Grimsley 7
    Dudley 28 Gboro Page 21 — Ragsdale 21 Gboro Page 14
    Dudley 46 Western Guilford 19 — Ragsdale 14 Western Guilford 3

    Avg 40 – 10 30 pt margin — Avg 30.25 – 6 24.25 pt. margin

Dudley’s D has given up an average of about 6 points a game. Ragsdale’s D has given up an average of about 8 pts a a game. Some of these scores I’ve seen posted here and on NCPreps are ludicrous. 42-10 – 49-6. Dudley by 4 TDs. You fans do realize Dudley is playing Ragsdale – not Morehead or Grimsley.

This won’t be an easy game for either team.

  • john said,

I think we all agree that Ragsdale has a chance, however, their going to have to score at least 30 to have it.
yea Dudley beat Morehead by 46 and Ragsdale by 48, but i could gaurentee that 3rd sting played at least a half
for Dudley, does Ragsdale even have a second string? Ragsdale may be very hyped up to play this game but
Dudley is going to try and embarrass them and prove that they have no competition in this land. Friday there
will be no mercy for Ragsdale, and if there is even a possibility that they could run up the score they will take it.
I like Ragsdale, they play with heart and EVERYONE knows that, but so does Dudley, and right now it comes
down to talent to win this one, which is clearly in Dudleys favor.

    Dudley 42 Ragsdale 14

    Jon and your twin John,

Let me restate what you just said another way. Seeing you saw fit to post it twice, I thought it also fit to post it in reverse!

  • mark said,

posted by john – “Does Ragsdale even have a second string?”

Nah – I don’t think so. They only have about 25 players on the roster. Just about everybody plays both ways. I think they had the starters in to the very last play in that Morehead game.

  • John said,

It wouldn’t show that it posted the first time so i though i had to post it under another name so i just subtracted the h. And thanks Mark, 25 players, some that play both ways…i hope they run alot of “win” sprints, because to keep up is going to be a challange!

  • johnny said,

Mark do you have any idea what you are talking about? Have you been to a Ragsdale game yet this year? Their roster is about 60 deep and they have at most TWO players that may play both ways in Nick Mearite. idk where you got 25 players on the roster…

  • mark said,

yeah – I know what I’m talking about. I’ve been to every Ragsdale game. (and for many years before) But it’s obvious many of the posters on here haven’t based on some of these rediculous predictions.

It was a stupid question so it deserved a stupid answer.

  • John said,

Well i was at the western guilford game, which was a close game…and western is a very average football team not matter what you guys may argue

So im just going to agree with the people that had the first two post

    “Dudley no question”
    and
    “Dudley by four TD’s”

and everyone on this entire blog could agree with that, if there not stupid….

  • mike said,

less is momo i love the way you put that last post that will be exactly how the tigers enter this game that little team from jamestown nc going to play powerhouse of guilford county dudley with the world against them just as APP was…Tommy Norwood WILL have those guys more fired up to play then ever

  • tiger25 said,

ragsdales O-line will be the difference if those guys can pull together and do a good job with number 72 and 73 they should be fine as far as ricky lewis’s running game goes not even worried ab it that guy hasnt seen a defense quite as good as the one hes gonna see friday night

  • Sarcasim said,

Johnny – Mark was being sarcastic.

  • Average said,

    John

Western Guilford may be average but they scored 19 on Dudley. When Western played Dudley they had already lost 2 conference games. They were not playing for anything other than pride. When they played Ragsdale they were playing for their season, and for some their football lives. I am sure the effort was a little more intense aginst Ragsdale than Dudley. WG is the only team Dudley beat worse than Ragdale in their 4 common opponents. But of course we do not have a 2nd string and have a lot of people going both ways and had all of our starters in til the end. (Johnny that is also sarcasim)

  • John said,

Hey Average, Mark, Sarcasm, Tiger25 and Johnny

since this is a poll, who do you think is going to win and what will the score be,

since all of you are sports analyst,

(and try to make an actual guess, bc Mikes prediction of 17-7 Ragsdale the winner sounds like sarcasm)

  • Sarcasim said,

John after careful consideration and a considerable amount of time reading posts from geniuses like MO MO, Jon/John, and dafdadads, I predict Dudley 70 – 0 over Ragsdale but only because Dudley does not play it’s 2nd team. Was that actual guess?

  • mark said,

    Ragsdale 21
    Dudley 18

  • John said,

    Sacasim

i dont know what your problem is, i like Ragsdale, clearly you do too
theyre a good team, and they have surprised everyone by going undefeated.
But face it Dudley is the defending state champs, and they are basically the same team.
so im giving this game to Dudley, if friday night i am proved wrong i will tip my hat to
the tigers……but i highly doubt that will happen

  • Sarcasim said,

Ok John, I try writing without the sarcasim. First of all they are not spoting Dudley 10 points beccause they won state last year (ok that was a little sarcastic). I have NEVER said Ragsdale WILL win. What is entirely entertaining is reading all the posts saying how Dudley will win by 30 or 40 or 50. No one has made any argument that makes sense as to why they will crush Ragsdale. Win maybe but rip apart Ragsdale? There’s been no good argument for that. Dudley is not going win Friday because they won the State Championship last year.

Ragsdale can win if – they stop Dudley early, get in their heads, do not turnover the football and if they make Dudley earn every single millimeter football field they get. They need to score 17 to 21 to have a chance and play perfect defense. This can happen. It may not but it can. If Ragsdale wins I’d expect a score of 24 to 16 or 21 to 20, of course Dudley may win 50 to 0.

Norwood has NEVER coached a team that loaded a bus or walked out of a locker room expecting to lose. It will not happen Friday either. If anyone at Dudley thinks the kids at Ragsdale will be indimidated they are mistaken. Ragsdale respects Dudley but they are not in awe. Ragsdale may lose, and if they do, they will lose with class and a ton of effort. We’ll all just have to wait and find out. It’s gonna be fun ain’t it!

  • Jenny said,

Ragsdale wil shock North Carolina. Final from Greensboro 28-8 Dudley players will be coming into this game seeing all the hype on how they are the “best” team in the state and will basically steam roll Ragsdale. Ragsdale players, fans, and coaches all have a different plan.

  • Damon said,

I’m tired of debating with my stepdad…..so, I’ll bring my argument here. He says Ragsdale gets a beat down from Dudley. I say he’s still upset about our guys getting outcoached and outplayed. I think it will be a competitive game. I have Dudley by 10 on a late game TD to put the game away, but it wouldn’t surprise if Ragsdale got the victory. I believe they have the athletes in the right spots to get the job down. They just need a great “Team” effort (Nothing new to them).

    Okay….HOW CAN RAGSDALE BEAT DUDLEY?

Ragsdale’ O-line needs to bring their A game. I don’t see Ragsdale running for too many yards against Dudley, but how well the Tiger’s are able to protect Romer in the passing game could be the difference between a game for the ages and a blowout. I think the Tiger’s will protect Romer well enough to make this a game.

Romer needs to stay calm and be sharp. If Dudley has a weakness, it’s in their secondary. The Tigers have receivers capable of exploiting the Panther secondary if Romer can get them the ball. You can’t throw TDs flat on your back.

When the Tigers score and they will, Redfern needs to keep doing what he does. Has he failed to kick a ball into the end zone this year? Anyway, make Dudley go 80 yards to beat you.

Ragsdale defense needs to play the game of their lives. You can bend, but don’t break. If the D-line can make plays and keep Dudley’s O-line off their linebackers, the Tiger defense has a shot at stopping the Dudley rushing attack. Tall order…Good luck with that one. The defense needs to make Lewis, Jr. beat em’ through the air. Ragsdale has corners capable of covering Dudley’s receivers man to man if necessary. I think it will be necessary to man up in order to stop the run.

Ragsdale can’t afford to lose the turnover battle. Mistake free football is a must.

Ragsdale has the coaching staff capable of implementing a successful game plan. I can guarantee you that even if they get beat, they won’t be outcoached. You won’t see a lack of effort and you won’t see a team quit on the field.

I still have it Dudley over Ragsdale 30-20
