In boys action we saw that big win by the Southern Guilford Storm 74-69 over PG, plus Westchester Academy improved to (6-0) after defeating Northside Christian 79-49 behind the efforts of Duece Bello. Bello is one of High Point’s best ball players and the he torched the Northside Knights for 28 last night. We don’t have the score, but our sources tell us that High Point Central ran through Southwest Guilford in droves last evening. The Bison were going 15 deep and they really took it to the SWG Cowboys. We will try and get a score up here for you later today.*****HPC wins it 74-48 over SWG, and we thank J. White for sending us that score.*****

Tonight we have Northeast Guilford with new girls head coach Brandon Apple at Page with the game set to start at 6pm and the boys will follow at arouond 7:30. Coach Apple is staying real busy this time of year with his girls basketball team and he is still coaching the quarterbacks at Northeast as the Rams get ready to visit Northern Vance this Friday night in round three of the State 3-AA football playoffs.

Also tonight it’s Burlington Williams versus Eastern Guilford at UNCG with the games set to start at 6:30 with girls and boys and then we also have Southern Guilford at Western with the girls/boys doubleheader set to roll at 6pm.

I heard the NEG/Page game time were switched. I called a parent at the game and was shocked to hear the girls game was a low scoring 31-17 with Page coming out on top. Both teams are definitely rebuilding. You forgot to mention Northern/Smith match up.Northern Girls pulled out the win 63-54. Should have been more but I think the first game jitters got to some. The Northern boys blew out Smith but only in the 2nd half. NG was down 5 at half. Those Smith boys have a lot of talent. Hope they put it to good use. NG came into the 2nd half on a 17-2 run in about 4min of play. NG guard(Dillion I think) hit 3 3ptrs in the first 51 seconds in the 3rd qtr. Amazing kid.
