Ragsdale takes two from HPA and tonight’s HS hoops schedule

Ragsdale took both games from High Point Andrews last night in Jamestown with the boys posting a 48-36 win, led by Jay Canty with 16, and the Tiger men are now (8-0) and HPA falls to (4-3).

Here’s a direct account from one of our readers who was at the game:
Ragsdale posted their eight consecutive victory with a 48 – 36 win over Andrews. It was tied 25 all at halftime. The Tigers stepped up the defensive intensity in the second half. Andrews went 4 minutes in the third before they got their first basket and were held to 5 for the quarter as Ragsdale took the lead by 10 at 40 – 30. The fourth was more defense from Ragsdale, holding the Red Raiders to 6 and putting on a ball handling display as they went into their motion offense and controlled the ball for long stretches. Ragsdale’s Jay Canty led all scorers with 16 points. Charles Goodwin led Andrews with 11 but only 3 in the second half.

In the girls game it was Ragsdale over HP Andrews 41-25 with Courtney Arrington hitting for 11 and Lisa Archie 9 to pace the (6-3) Tigers. The Andews girls fall to (6-2).
