QB Russell Wilson goes down and Pack falls to Rutgers 29-23

When N.C. State quarterback Russell Wilson left the game with his injury(strained left knee), the game totally changed for N.C. State on offense. The backup QB’s, Evans and Beck, have no running skills and they were off-target on the key passes in crucial game-changing situations.

Daniel Evans did his best in what will be his last college football game, but it just wasn’t enough, and his two interceptions, especially the last one, proved costly and the bad part is that N.C. State will close out the year with an overall losing record at (6-7).

Russell Wilson will be back in 2009 and that means he’s back in both baseball and football, so keep an an on this student-athlete. Here’s the final cap on the final game, and what a heck of a game it was, all the way down to the very last N.C. State offensive play…..

North Carolina State (6-7, 4-4 ACC)
Rutgers (8-5, 5-2 Big East)
1 2 3 4
10 7 0 6(N.C. State 23)

The final cap from espn.com:
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Mike Teel passed for 319 yards and Rutgers capped its comeback season with another rally, defeating North Carolina State 29-23 in the Papajohns.com Bowl Monday.

Teel threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Britt with 8:30 to play for what proved to be the winning touchdown. Britt made a juggling catch as he crossed the goal line.

Britt, a third-team All-America, caught six passes for 119 yards, and Teel was the game’s most valuable player.

The Scarlet Knights (8-5) began the season 1-5, but finished with a seven-game winning streak.

NC State (6-7) held a 17-6 halftime, led by quarterback Russell Wilson who was 11-for-23 for 186 yards and a score. But Wilson left the game with a strained knee late in the first half and did not return.
