We gave you the Dudley-Morehead boys wrap-up last night and we had the score on the Eastern Guilford girls win over WS Atkins at UNCG.

The Southern Guilford girls picked up their first North State 2-A Conference victory with a win over McMichael…..Big battle brewing with SG and EG….

Kamille Horne, Lindsey Inman and Nichelle Caudle combined for 51 points to place Southern Guilford in the right position. Southern got its first conference win.

Other winners last night included the Northern, Ragsdale, High Point Central, Greensboro Day School, Eastern Guilford and Bishop McGuinness boys.

Also the Dudley, Northern, Ragsdale, Southeast Guilford, Bishop McGuiness and Ragsdale girls were winners…..

More details coming but we do know that Jonathan Frye had another double-double for Northern and that Jacob Lawson and Christian McCain also hit for double-digits for the Nighthawks and that Reggie Perkins, RJ McLaughlin and Jordan Williams did the same for Western in the loss to NG.

Northern over Western 75-58 boys and Northern at Dudley is coming up on Friday night. For NG McCain with 18 points/10 boards, Lawson with 17 points/10 boards and Frye with 15/11…..

Wally Jones with 27 paced Ragsdale(13-1) over Trinity while Josh Pittman had 21 points in the loss by the Bulldogs to the Tigers. Tyquan Roberts had 18 points for the Tigers , while Jay Canty had 12 points(plus 8 rebounds and 8 assists) and Josh White added 10 for the Ragsdale Tigers.

Javan Mitchell led Greensboro Day School(16-2) to the Bengals’ 78-40 victory over the Australian Boomers. Mitchell had 10 points while Lucas Weavil had 8, Jimbo Brumley had 8, Jordan Robertson 8, it was 6 each for Brandon Dorsett, Ryan Carty, Alex Dick and Domas Rinksalis and Jay Lewis had 5 points in the win by GDS and that’s what you call balanced scoring.

Eastern(Terry Carter 16) topped WS Atkins 60-59, High Point Central(David Ledbetter 15) got past Kernersville Glenn 56-49 and Bishop McGuinness routed North Stokes 75-55 with Aaron Toomey hitting for 21 points and 10 rebounds while Ross Diachenko added 14 points for the Villians.

Bishop jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter behind toomey and diachenko’s 14 combined points but north ralled back to tie it with 3 mins to go in the half. Bishop went on an 8-0 run to end the half.3rd qtr was even and in the 4th bishop wore n stokes down as the villains had 8 players to score in the quarter. Bishop made 12 free throws in the fourth, led by aaron toomey’s 5. Aarom toomey 21 points 10 assists Atticus lum 7 rebounds Zach toomey 4 blocks

Calvary Baptist 72, Oak Ridge 46: Jonathan Stafford scored 12 points to lead visiting Calvary past Oak Ridge in a Triad Athletic 2-A game last night.(Stafford could be a big-time player for someone.)

Ben Shoesmith added 11 points, Patrick Caldwell added 10 points and five steals, and Trent Tysinger added 10 points for Calvary.

Bruce Howell led Oak Ridge with 29 points.

The girls games from our area from last night were;
Smith picked up another win topping WS Carver 52-45….LaKendra Wilkerson 21 points for the (3-5) Golden Eagles. No word on the Smith boys versus Carver Yellow Jackets.

The Ragsdale girls moved to (11-4) after their 51-32 victory over Trinity. Courtney Arrington 18 and Lisa Archie 10 for the Tigers. Southeast Guilford whipped Asheboro 51-27 behind Paris Alston’s 15 points and now the Falcons are (3-0 Conference and 10-3 overall).

The Dudley girls buried Morehead 59-7 outscoring Morehead 28-5 first half and 31-2 in the second half. Helen Terry and Desiree Drayton led the Panthers in the win and now Dudley will get set to host the Northern Guilford girls on Friday night. Northern disposed of the Western Guilford girls 53-39 with Samantha Coffer posting a 25 point/12 rebound night for the Nighthawks. Kelly Tessitore added 16 for NG.

The Bishop McGuinness ladies walloped North Stokes 65-28 with a balanced Villian effort.
