Hoppers Warming up the Winter with 5th Season Anniversary Kick-Off

Tickets on Sale Day slated for February 28 and New Game Times Released

(Greensboro, NC)- With only 80 days until Opening Day, baseball fever is hitting Greensboro! The Grasshoppers will launch individual ticket sales for their fifth season beginning on Saturday, February 28, at NewBridge Bank Park. In honor of the Hoppers fifth season, all tickets bought on Tickets on Sale Day are only $5. This special discount is good for any seat to any game, but only valid for tickets purchased on February 28.

The stadium box office will open at 9:00 a.m., with tickets to all 70 Grasshoppers home games available. Autographed Hoppers memorabilia will be given out to the first 50 fans to purchase tickets during the event.

Additionally at 8:30 a.m., the Hoppers will open the third annual Hoppin’ Fun Yard Sale, located in the plaza entrance of NewBridge Bank Park and along Bellemeade Street. New to 2009, the team invites the community to participate by selling their own merchandise. Items for sale include assorted memorabilia from over 35 Minor League Baseball items, vintage baseball jerseys, rare bobbleheads and much, much more! Proceeds from the yard sale will benefit the Grasshoppers 2009 charity, Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network.

As part of the season kick-off, anyone wishing to audition for the National Anthem can do so at the stadium from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with registration beginning at 11:00 a.m. on a first come, first sing basis.

Local businesses will provide refreshments for the early rising fans, while supplies last.

Online and phone ticket sales will not open until Monday, March 2 at 9:00 a.m.

The Hoppers open their home 2009 season April 9 against the Greenville Drive. New for 2009, the Greensboro Grasshoppers game times will begin five minutes after the hour in honor of the fifth season anniversary.

Night games will start at 7:05PM; exceptions will be day games at 12:35PM, and school days at 10:45AM. The most noticeable change in game times will occur on Sundays. First pitch will be at 4:05PM.

Our Hoppin’ Fun 2009 promotional schedule is bursting with fabulous new nights and some of the classic fan favorites, including two Miss Babe Ruth’s Barks in Park, Fireworks Fridays, Skyrocket Saturdays, and Sunday giveaways! “We have had a lot of Hoppin’ Fun in the last four years. I think this fifth season will prove to be even more creative and full of great entertainment,” said Donald Moore, the Grasshoppers President and General Manager.
