AGGIES MAKE COACHING CHANGE

GREENSBORO, January 28, 2009 – North Carolina A&T director of athletics Wheeler Brown has announced the dismissal of head volleyball coach Lyndsay Schmiedel.

“We thank Ms. Schmiedel for her service to the volleyball program both as an assistant and head coach,’’ said Brown. “The program at this time, however, needs a new direction.”

Schmiedel came to N.C. A&T as an assistant in 2005 and served as the Aggies assistant volleyball coach for two seasons. She accepted the head coaching position in 2007. In two seasons under Schmiedel, the Aggies went 15-48. The contact person for the program until a replacement for Schmiedel is found will be assistant coach Arlene Mitchell.

  1. Glad to see Wheeler step up and make changes where needed.
Lets keep and eye on the Baseball program.
We need to get that back to the old days when the community loved to come out to the ball park.
