River Mill 57 – Eastern Alamance 54

In an exciting Alamance County match-up, 1-A River Mill defeated 3-A Eastern Alamance by the score of 57-54.

The Eastern Eagles jumped to a 13-8 lead by the end of the 1st period, only to watch the Lady Jaguars storm back to take a 27-21 lead at the half. The momentum slowly began to shift in Eastern’s favor in the second half. The Eagles were able to re-capture the lead, early in the fourth quarter. The thrilling finish featured several lead changes. Down by one point with 11 seconds remaining, River Mill was fouled on an inbound play. The Jaguars converted both free throws to take a one point lead. They subsequently captured a steal and hit two more foul shots, to determine the margin of victory.

  1. Allison Cousin hit 2 free throws in the final seconds to give River Mill a 1pt lead. She then stole a inbound pass and made the layup. What a great game it was. Jackie Lyles and Allison Cousin gave a great showing. Just the type of game they need right before conf tourney.

  2. Yes jackie lyles spent her junior year @ NEG. Now she is back @ River Mill. Allison spent last year @ Graham

  3. Eastern Alamance is an excellent team. I believe their only two losses were both to River Mill.

    It would be exciting to see River Mill play any of the top Guilford County teams. Why don’t they?
