HS hoops tonight and the AM950 call

Several championships on the line tonight and we will have them covered for you here at the site.

We have tried to go above and beyond in our coverage this week and in doing so we have sought out and brought in resources from the Asheboro Courier-Tribune, the Eden Daily News, the Burlington Times, the Winston-Salem Journal and as always the on-line service from the New and Record.

We have just about all of your scores from last night up today and our biggest challenge right now is getting the news on the teams from High Point Andrews and Southwest Guilford and we hope to have that up for you by early afternoon at the latest. For some wacked-out reason the High Point Enterprise wants you to got through a 20 minute log-in procedure to read their information. We will make a few phone calls.

We did the Metro 4-A tourney on radio last year and if you remember it became a Saturday afternoon game at Grimsley where #2 Page came in and upset #1 Grimsley. They had to play on Saturday because of snow during the week and everything got pushed back a day. Johnathan Leonard had to miss the game for Grimsley, because he had to be away at Soccer Tournament on Saturday. Metro last year and now Triad this year and we will have both games covered for you.*****

  1. I just got back from the Triad 3A tournament. Northern boys beat Dudley by 10 in a great game. The Dudley girls beat Rockingham by 2 with a shot at the buzzer. The gym was packed. There wasn’t an empty seat. All four teams played their hearts out. This was a great night for Guilford County High Scholl basketball.

  2. Grimsley-Page was great again as always. Page won 77-74. Brooks was in foul trouble and was shut down. Finney and oates played great for the pirates. Keith manley and williams played great for the whirlies and carter gourley played on a sprained ankle that limited him a bit. But the story tonight was mitchell oates
