Eastern Guilford girls claim North State 2-A Title

Eastern 73 West Stokes 63‏:Talk about a BIG NIGHT by Capricia Smalls and Miranda Jenkins. When you look at Terry and Patterson, you have to look at Jenkins and Smalls as one of the best one-two tandems in the state. They keep coming at ya. AD

Eastern Guilford won the Norh State Conference Championship 73-63 over West Stokes. The game was a close matchup from start to finish with Eastern leading by four 30-26 at half. Eastern got great team play from everyone.

They were led by Capricia Small 27 points and Miranda Jenkins 25 points to keep West Stokes off base. Amerijah Jamison nearly had a double-double with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Freshmen Kierra Purcell put in another great performance off the bench with 7 points. Kristin Crosby played excellent defense on West Stokes leading scorer Jessica Brown. They get to play Northwood Tuesday in the first round of the playoffs at UNCG.
