First-ever “Mascot Night” To Take Place March 6 at the Upcoming ACC Women’s Tournament

All 12 ACC Mascots along with a special guest emcee will entertain Friday’s audience for the 6 and 8 o’clock games

GREENSBORO, NC – The 2009 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament will feature its first-ever “Mascot Night presented by

Food Lion” on the final session of Friday, March 6.

Beginning at 5 p.m., the mascots from each of the 12 ACC institutions will be on hand at the Greensboro Coliseum to greet

and interact with patrons, pose for photos, hand out stickers and posters and bring family fun to those in attendance for

Session III (6 & 8 pm games) of the Tournament.

“We think that Friday night will be a great way for families to come and enjoy some of the best women’s basketball in the

country as well as take pictures with their favorite mascots,” said ACC Associate Commissioner Nora Lynn Finch. “And have

you ever met someone who didn’t like mascots?”

Tickets for “Mascot Night presented by Food Lion” and all other sessions of the 2009 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament

Greensboro Coliseum box office. In addition, ticket books (all sessions) and individual session “Family Four packs” (4

tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 Pepsi-Colas for $44) are also on sale.

The 2009 ACC Women’s Tournament will mark the 10th consecutive year the Coliseum has played host. In 2008, the

Tournament set an overall attendance record of 72,114 and welcomed an all-time single-session record of 12,969 fans,

including more than 13,000 enthusiastic students, representing over 40 Guilford County schools and 11 surrounding

counties to the event.
