Greensboro Native found College Basketball Stardom in Minnesota

While sitting in the Cigar Room at JR Cigars in Burlington on Thursday afternoon, I happened across an interesting piece in the sports section of the Raleigh News and Observer. The article was about Lou Hudson, a basketball player who starred at Dudley High School in the early 1960s and went on to find college basketball stardom at the University of Minnesota.

The article talked about Hudson’s move north as opportunities for black players in the South at that time were limited. Hudson would go on from Minnesota to enjoy a productive career in the NBA.

An interesting Saturday morning read, even if you aren’t enjoying a Partagas No. 10 cigar.
