These men want to Fight: Ken Shamrock vs. Bobby Lashley in jeopardy

from pwtorch.com’s MMA department:

The California State Athletic Commission announced a one-year suspension of Ken Shamrock after he tested positive for steroids following his February MMA victory in Fresno, Calif. His scheduled fight against Bobby Lashley on March 21 is in jeopardy.

The Florida athletic commission is likely to uphold Shamrock’s suspension if he is unable to make a successful appeal in California, according to sherdog.com.

Lashley vs. Shamrock in a battle of former WWE stars was scheduled for the main event of Roy Jones, Jr.’s mixed boxing/MMA card next weekend.

Shamrock tested positive for the steroid Stanozolol and two Nandrolone-based substances, according to a statement from the California commission. Shamrock’s manager, Rod Donohoo, denied the allegations.

“Ken was taking legal over-the-counter products, and based upon our preliminary research, I’m investigating if those products were the result of these findings,” said Donohoo.

Shamrock’s manager added that he will make an immediate appeal for the suspension to be overturned in order for Shamrock to fight Lashley on March 21.
