Greensboro College’s Alex Phetteplace (Greensboro, NC/Northwest Guilford) was picked the USA South Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The sophomore starting pitcher, in his only appearance for The Pride last week, earned a victory in the team’s 13-3 win over Hampden-Sydney. In six innings, Phetteplace gave up one unearned run on three hits and one walk while striking out a school-record 13 batters.
Phetteplace also appeared in a suspended game with Hampden-Sydney that was completed last week. In that game, Phetteplace tossed two scoreless innings.
The Pride hosts Tufts tonight at 7 p.m.
