HS Baseball Today and a look at the Conference standings

Southwest Guilford at Glenn
Trinity at Dudley

*****from Wednesday and how did they get this one in?*****
Southeast Guilford 6
Southwestern Randolph 3

WP:Josh Tobias
SEG(6-3):Gilmore 2-3, Webb 1-3, Clark 1-3…..If my numbers serve me correctly Southeast stands at (3-3) in the Mid-Piedmont Conference with those losses coming to Asheboro, Randleman and Ragsdale. Does anyone know how Asheboro and Randleman stand? Ragsdale has one conference loss and that was to Asheboro.

Northwest Guilford 17
Smith 0

NWG (7-0)/(3-0) Metro 4-A

The way the area conferences are starting to shape up it looks like Northwest is ready to put a stranglehold on the Metro, Ragsdale, Randleman and Asheboro in the Mid-Piedmont, Northern has a slight grip on the the Triad 3-A and it could get stronger if they are able to defeat Bartlett Yancey on Friday night at NG.

East Forsyth is in second in the Metro, with Grimsley in third right now and High Point Central is holding down the fourth spot while Page is at five and Smith at six. NWG has beaten everyone, East lost to NWG but beat Grimlsey and others, while Grimsley beat Page and HPC, but lost to East and then Page lost to most of the above, but they topped Smith. At least that’s the way I have it and if we are wrong, let us know, no hard feelings here at this juncture.

Right now the rest of the Triad is anybody’s game with Western Guilford, Northeast, Dudley, Rockingham County, Western Alamance and Bartlett Yancey all having a shot at Northern and the only team that is out of the running is Morehead.

In the Piedmont-Triad 3-A it is going to be tight with Southwest Guilford, Glenn and WS Reagan all in the mix. As was mentioned the other day, SWG faces a must-win situation today as they travel to face Glenn in Kernersville, over off of Highway 66. Weather permitting!

I haven’t heard much out of the North State 2-A yet with Eastern and Southern Guilford, but we are listening.

What started out as a brief summary turned into a larger breakdown and let’s hopes it works for you.

  1. The NW/Smith game was played Wed. with Northwest winning 17-0…no details.

Northwest plays 7:00 Friday at Page and then hosts Randleman at 2:00 on Saturday.

  2. Western Guilford(6-1 lost to NG),Bartlett Yancey(lost to RC) and Northern Guilford(5-1lost to BY) all have 1 conference lost. While Rockingham,Western Alamance and Dudley all have 3 losses.Should be a tight run seeing as any team can win on any given night.Northeast had NG & BY both down in the last inning only to lose by 1 in the last at bats due to errors(on back to back nights).WG beat DHS 6-5 but did not have an earned run in the game.RC 10r ruled BY after being 10r ruled byWG.BY beat NG with HBP with the bases loaded. With as the start in March sound like a wild ride in April if it stops raining
