The Florida Marlins topped the Washington Nationals 8-3 on Tuesday to start the season at (2-0) and they are under way in Miami this afternoon with the Marlins traling the Nationals 2-0 in the top of the 3rd with former Greensboro Grasshopper Chris Volstad on the hill for Florida.
Washington up 2-0 after two-and-a-half with the Nats getting two runs on two hits with no errors early and the Fish have no runs on 1 hit and they have committed one error.

Josh Johnson got the best of one of his better friends, throwing 6 2/3 shutout innings in the Marlins’ 8-3 victory over the Nationals at Dolphin Stadium.
The two were part of Florida’s 2002 First-Year Player Draft, with Johnson being selected in the fourth round and his buddy Scott Olsen in the sixth round.
“It was pretty crazy,” Johnson said of the head-to-head encounter. “He was my teammate for seven years. I’ve been tight with him for seven years. It’s different. But it worked out for us.”
In a big way.
Riding the momentum of a 12-6 win on Opening Day, the Marlins poured it on against Olsen, generating all eight of their runs in the three innings the former Florida left-hander pitched.
Jorge Cantu and Dan Uggla each connected on two-run homers off Olsen, who gave up eight runs on eight hits before exiting after 69 pitches.
