At the Dudley Easter Tournament going on through Tuesday at Dudley HS:

Grimsley 15

WP:Kevin Rose

*****This game was tied at 1-1 going to the 7th inning and the Grimlsey Whirlies put up 14 big runs and in the process chased the HPC starter and one reliever out of the game. All Whirlies, all of the time, in the 7th.

Grimsley starter, Kevin Rose, and HP Central starter, Tyler Ellis, were locked in a classic pitching duel through 6 innings. But the Whirlies erupted for 14 runs in the top of the 7th to break open a 1-1 game. Rose cruised in the bottom of the 7th to earn a complete game win. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits while compiling 8 strikeouts and a walk. Grimsley was led offensively by DJ Reader and Daniel Massey with 3 RBIs each, while Gabe Dimock contributed 2 RBIs. In addition, Korey Shumate was 3-5 at the plate. Grimsley improves to 6-8 on the season and plays Dudley Tues. night in the championship game of the Dudley Easter tournament.*****

High Point Andrews 14
Smith 4

On Tuesday in the Championship game it will be Grimsley versus Dudley at 7 PM and the consolation game will feature High Point Andrews vs. High Point Central at 4:30…….

Northeast Guilford and Eastern Guilford both won two games each on Monday at the Eastern Guilford Easter Baseball Tournament. Not sure how the declared the winner, but NEG and EG both grabbed two wins on Monday and NEG took home the Championship Trophy. Congrats to the Rams, who must have beaten EG earlier in the tourney.
