Marlins hot streak continues/Hoppers not so lucky

WASHINGTON — Behind a blast and an infield hit, the Florida Marlins’ streak stayed alive.

Barely.

Jeremy Hermida(Greensboro Bats 2003) legged out a two-out single to shortstop in the 10th inning, scoring Jorge Cantu with the decisive run in a 3-2 comeback victory over the Nationals on Friday night at Nationals Park.

The rally extended the Marlins’ winning streak to five games, including 4-0 on the current road trip. Now 9-1, the Marlins are off to the best start in franchise history. The 1997 and 2004 teams each opened at 8-1 but lost their respective 10th games.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers lost 9-0 to Greenville last Sunday at NewBridge Bank Park and it happened again last night down in Greenville, S.C. Not many highlights, but Brandon Hyde’s Jacksonville Suns stayed hot and Mike Stanton(Hoppers 2008) hit his first home run of the season to lead to the Jupiter Hammerheads to a win over Sarasota.

Kevin Randel(Greensboro Bats 2004) homered, drove in three runs and scored twice Friday to pace the Jacksonville Suns in an 8-3 win over the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. Tim Torres hit a two-run single and a sacrifice fly, and Andrew Jenkins(Greensboro Grasshoppers 2006-2007) scored three times.

  1. I am the grandmother of Taylor Krick who is on the No.Carolina, Grasshoppers.

I dont know if he is on thr roster to play today, April 3, sat. at 3;05 but I wanted to hear it on the live radio on my computer and an not sure how to do this.

Taylor plays 4 possitions, 1,3,outfield and catcher. I think he might be playing 3rd or catcher if he is on the roster.
I live in California and do not know if it is a 2 or 3 hr. differece.

    Thanks for any help
