Former State Standout lands in Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to a three-year contract with Gibsonville native Torry Holt on Monday night.

Holt played for Eastern Guilford then NC State before being drafted by the NFL’s St. Louis Rams. The future Hall of Famer played in a pair of Super Bowls for the Rams, winning one and losing another.

Holt is a seven-time Pro Bowler and ranks 11th on the NFL’s career list with 869 receptions. He caught 64 passes for 796 yards and three touchdowns for St. Louis last season. The Rams released Holt in March.
