Foul ball knocks out umpire at Grasshoppers’ game

GREENSBORO – A foul ball knocked out an umpire at the Greensboro Grasshoppers game Thursday night against the Asheville Tourists.

A foul ball hit the umpire Koyu Inoue in the bottom of the seventh inning while Greensboro outfielder Jeremy Synan was batting.

Inoue remained motionless on the field for 20 minutes before being placed in an ambulance and taken to the hospital.
