Here we go with more info than you would probably need, but our goal is to get the kids names out there and to get people talking about them. We see Shelby Gakeler as the hitting leader for Western Guilford.

Isn’t she the daughter of Dan Gakeler, former pitcher for the Greensboro Hornets South Atlantic League club? Somebody’s bound to know this one and I believe he was coaching at Kernodle Middle a while back.

Plenty to talk about when we get started.

Also from Wednesday we had:
Southwestern Randolph 8
Southeast Guilford 1

*****Just as a side not, I have always heard that SWR has an excellent softball program and has for many years. Sounds like they are at it again this year. Strong show Cougars!*****

We were able to round up more from Wednesday as Northwest Guilford moved to (9-3) on the season and they stand at (5-0) Metro 4-A after Wednesday’s win over Western Guilford.

NWG 10
Western 0

W: Sarah Herrin 3-0 Leaders NWG – Salem Brendle 2 for 2 2B; Brandi Hutson 2 for 2. WG Shelby Gakeler 1 for 2.

*****If we have any more scores or if you know of any games coming up today, please send them our way.*****
