Hoppers return home from West Virginia

The Phillies whipped the Marlins on Sunday and the Greensboro Grasshoppers lost their second game in a row, 8-4, to the West Virginia Power. Hoppers return home for an off-day on Monday(today) and return to action on Tuesday at NewBridge Bank Park versus the same West Virginia Power.

From Sunday’s game Ben Lasater homered for the Hoppers, his fourth, and Justin Bass connected with a long ball as well, his first.

For the Jacksonville Suns, who were Sunday winners, former Hopper Scott Cousins(2007) went 2-5 and Bryan Peterson(2008) was 1-3 with a run and an RBI.

The Jupiter Hammerheads also grabbed a Sunday victory with Jake Blackwood(2007) going 1-4 with a big HR, his first of the season. Brad Stone(2007) and Blake Jones(2006-2007) both came out of the bullpen for Jupiter.
