Hoppers home tonight and Marlins struggling

The Greensboro Grasshoppers return to the field tonight at NewBridge Bank Park and resume play after their off day at (9-9).

The Florida Marlins lost to the New York Mets 7-1 on Monday and the Fish had a wish to dominate early and they did, but now things have slowed down for the Grasshoppers’ parent club. They started out at (11-1) and now they have seen their record slip to (11-8).

Good news for the Advanced Class A Jupiter Hammerheads on Monday as the man who led them with a homer on Sunday, Jake Blackwood, stayed hot yesterday.

Blackwood hammers Mets in 11th
Jacob Blackwood smacked his first double of the year in the 11th inning to plate the go-ahead run as Jupiter edged St. Lucie, 2-1, on Monday. Blackwood(Hoppers 2007) went 3-for-5 in the game, and Andrew Battisto(Hoppers 2008) picked up the win with two perfect innings.
