Grasshoppers make mark in April

‘Hoppers Break April Attendance Record

April Per-Game Average is all-time best 6594

Greensboro, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers broke their Franchise Record for April per-game average attendance tonight as they drew 6040 against the Delmarva Shorebirds. This gives the ‘Hoppers 65,935 fans in 10 April openings, for an average of 6594 per game. The previous April record was set in 2007, when the team averaged 6384 fans per contest.

“It’s a long season, but it is extremely encouraging for us to have drawn so well this month,” said Grasshoppers’ President and General Manager Donald Moore. “With all the uncertainty in the economy, we are thrilled with our start to the year. I hope things continue in this same direction throughout the season,” Moore continued.

The Grasshoppers have welcomed over 1,715,000 fans to NewBridge Bank Park, drawing over 400,000 fans in each of its first four years at the new downtown ballpark.
